environmental initiatives

It’s only natural that we think beyond the horizon.

With G4L, when it’s time to remove the old floor we can help you Reclaim, Recycle and Reuse by assisting you in connecting to sources for recycling or reinstallation in worthwhile projects in your area. You’ll help the environment and receive valuable goodwill as a responsible community partner.

With EarthWerks® and G4L, you can have it all. That’s why our flooring is a step in the right direction for North America – and for the world. After all, it’s in our name.

Our Green4Life® program is revolutionary

When you buy EarthWerks® G4L products, you know you’re “green-conscious” because our luxury vinyl tiles and planks are manufactured in energy-efficient facilities. While all of our products are recyclable, products in our G4L program are produced using a minimum of 20% to 50% post-consumer/post-industrial recycled material.

reclaim

Removing old, existing floorcoverings and cove base then separating the material suitable for recycling is a great first step in being Green4Life®. It leads to putting resources back to work and contributes to reducing the amount of waste in our landfills. Understanding more about the environment, reclaiming old floors and replacing them with our green-friendly EarthWerks® products saves the forest for the trees.

recycle

Those tiles and planks that are not suitable for reuse can often be recycled right back into the manufacturing process. Our G4L vinyl plank and tile products have a minimum of 20% to 50% post-consumer/post-industrial waste and about 3% from in-house scrap. The percentages of post-consumer, post-industrial and in-house scrap can vary from day to day based upon availability and other factors. Our goal remains to make the most use possible of recycled materials while maintaining consistency in quality and cost of our products.

reuse

Our G4L program can assist you in reclaiming usable vinyl tiles and planks to repurpose them for use in local schools, Habitat for Humanity® or any other charities you wish to promote in your community good works program. In commercial environments, typically 50% of the floor is never walked on, due to placement of furniture, fixtures or other items. What is not reusable can be processed and recycled back into decorative flooring whenever possible.
